Faction: Swamp Goblins

In times of need or when the Gourd Cities are under threat, the entire population of a Swamp goblin tribe takes up spears and shields as they arm themselves for war. It is common for small war parties of Spearmen to raid neighboring tribes for food or the larvae of the great insect beasts that all Swamp Goblin tribes raise and train as both mounts and beasts of war.

The Spearmen are drawn from the vast bulk of gourd tenders and craftsmen, and every adult male Goblin is expected to fight for the security of the tribe. Young Goblins are eager to prove themselves in battle as this improves their standings when competing for a mate. The Spearmen often fight in large groups relying on force of numbers to subdue their enemy. Although small in stature, Swamp Goblins have a reputation for courage and ferocity, especially when fighting to protect their homes and people. Warbands of Spearmen often benefit from the support of Novice Shaman who join the Warband hoping to elevate their standing by using their knowledge to win victory for the tribe.
